Research projects at ISI typically involve a collaboration of research scientists, programmers, and students. A number of ISI researchers are also research faculty in the Department of Computer Science, and advise graduate students on directed research projects and dissertations. ISI is part of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and is located off campus in Marina del Rey. ISI is one of the nation's leading computer science research and development centers. Its researchers include internationally recognized experts active in a number of areas of computer science besides Artificial Intelligence, such as Internet communications and advanced networking, privacy and security, Grid computing, electronic commerce, and integrated circuits design and fabrication.
