Our research in Artificial Intelligence spans both technical and theoretical
aspects and practical implementations in a variety of application domains.
Some of these contributions are highlighted by our award-winning publications
and systems. Learn more
Research projects at ISI typically involve a collaboration of research
scientists, programmers, and students. A number of ISI researchers are also
research faculty in the Department of Computer Science, and advise graduate
students on directed research projects and dissertations. Many graduate
students at USC complete their degrees while working as research assistants on
ISI projects. Learn more
ISI is part of the
USC Viterbi School of Engineering and is located off campus in
Marina del Rey. ISI is one of the nation's leading computer science research
and development centers. Its researchers include internationally recognized
experts active in a number of areas of computer science besides Artificial
Intelligence, such as Internet communications and advanced networking, privacy
and security, Grid computing, electronic commerce, and integrated circuits
design and fabrication.
We are always interested in welcoming people that can contribute to our
research projects and help us move into new areas. We regularly have openings
for both junior and senior PhD-level researchers, research programmers, and
student interns. In addition, we host many visitors from universities,
companies, and research institutions from all over the world. If you are
interested in joining us, please contact us.
